SOLABS: 2015 Year in Review

We’d like to take a brief minute from the hustle and bustle of this festive season to wish a very special Happy Holidays to all our clients, partners, friends, colleagues, and of course the extended SOLABS family.
In a year full of conflict and turmoil in the world–some cynics might argue which years aren’t?–we’d also like to send a wish out for the health and eventual settlement of the world’s currently-displaced people, and hope that tolerance, kindness and generosity prevail this holiday season.
As 2015 wraps up, and as 2016 gets under way, may the New Year bring to you nothing but the best of all things!
SOLABS’ 2015 Highlights
We were proud to welcome several new clients both in Canada and the United States to the list of companies who entrust their quality automation to SOLABS. As well, a number of existing clients expanded their use of SOLABS QM to a complete Enterprise Quality Management System (EQMS), while others made the important upgrade from SOLABS QM 2.8 to SOLABS QM 10.
In a year of continued growth, SOLABS expanded its team over 50%, including two new Enterprise Software Sales Reps in the USA: Jessica Clark who is located in northern California & Mike Hagopian in the New England area. Together Mike & Jessica are representatives of SOLABS for new clients seeking to automate their quality operations and for existing clients interested in adding functionality to their current system.
SOLABS secured several noteworthy investments, which buoyed its ambitious growth plan to become a North American leader in EQMS for mid-size Life Sciences companies. The new shareholders are highly successful entrepreneurs, with strong ties to the Life Sciences industry.
As a result of concentrated sales and marketing efforts surrounding the latest release SOLABS QM 10, the company closed its most successful quarter in its 15 years of existence. Revenues are predicted to rise 35% in the 2016 fiscal year which concludes in June.
We collaborated on many projects and events with our sister company Skillpad, such as sponsorship of the ExL’s 6th Clinical Quality Oversight Forum and authoring a six-part blog series on Enterprise Quality Management Systems in the Clinical Trials industry.
In a harbinger of what is to come in 2016, we introduced our new Documentation Portal (which will be available to all SOLABS clients early in 2016), a hands-on, comprehensive, and up-to-date collection of documents in various media!
SOLABS QM 10.4.2, a major upgrade in the EQMS, was released in October.

Quality Automation Blog: A Year in Review
At this time of year, we reflect on the past 12 months, recognizing where we’ve been, as well as where we’re headed in the coming year.

At the half-way mark of 2015, SOLABS CEO Philippe Gaudreau continued to muse in a series of blog posts on change control/document control, about challenges in change control and automation and his experiences, current thoughts and reflections on best practices for categorizing, classifying and tagging documents.
Throughout the summer, Brian Graeff continued to offer his valuable insights into the following topics:
In advance of the SOLABS/Skillpad-sponsored ExL’s 6th Clinical Quality Oversight Forum, we interviewed Nathalie Bourgouin, (PMP, Senior Consultant and Project Manager at Skillpad) about the use of Enterprise Quality Management Systems (EQMS) for compliance in the Clinical Trials industry.
With GxP preparedness in mind, Brian Graeff rounded out 2015 with a post about forthcoming legislation from the FDA, discussing how this may be being foreshadowed in their current documentation.
Philippe Gaudreau continued his multi-part change control/document control series with posts that are required readings for anyone deciding how best to manage change and document control cycles in GxP environments, and periodic reviews.
SOLABS has experienced phenomenal growth in 2015, and we’re cognizant of our partners’ and customers’ roles in this area.
